VMasonic Scholarships- The Masonic Lodge offers many scholarships, below is the link to view the current scholarship listings. Most due dates are March 31st. https://imcap.org/scholarships

Southwestern Electric Cooperative Scholarship (SWEC) - $1,000 - for senior students whose parent or legal guardian is an active member of SWEC prior to submitting this scholarship application. Eligibility: will graduate spring 2020, plans to attend an accredited college or technical school in the fall of 2023, exemplifies good citizenship, and submits all application materials on time.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office Scholarship Drawer.  The Scholarship Program link is on the left side, under “Quick Links.”  Applications must be returned to Southwestern by March 10, 2023. 

ILLINOIS SOCIETY OF PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERS (St. Clair Chapter) – Several scholarships of $2,000 will be awarded to students who plan to study engineering at an IL or MO university or college, and is ABET-accredited.  Must have a GPA of at least 3.0.  Deadline for application is March 10, 2023.  Application is available at this link, clicking on the St. Clair Chapter toward the bottom of the page:  https://ilengineeringinitiative.org/scholarships/.      

Illinois Sheriffs’ Association Scholarship - $500 Scholarship to a Bond county senior planning to continue their education and training beyond high school.  An application and essay are required.  Application can be found at www.ilsheriff.org.  Deadline for applications are March 15, 2023.  ​
BPW Illinois Educational Foundation Scholarship Requirements- For female seniors who have a 3.0 GPA after 7th semester. Students need a cover letter, complete application form, a 200-300 word essay, high school transcript, and two letters of recommendations. Application is due March 25th, 2023. Applications can be sent electronically to Jessi Wright, BPWI-EF Chair applications@bpwi-ef.org

            
Opaa Scholarship
Five individuals will receive a $1,000 per year college Scholarship.  Students are eligible to apply for renewal every year for four years for a potential $4,000 in total. Open to high school seniors in a current Opaa! School District planning to pursue an Associate Degree, Bachelor’s Degree or Certificate.  Preference will be given to students entering the foodservice/hospitality industry.  Apply online at bit.ly/OpaaScholarship or Scan the QR code at the bottom of a poster posted outside the Guidance Office.  Application is due March 27, 2023

Kathryn G. Hansen- For students who are planning to pursue higher education in an office professional, secretarial, or business-related field within the state of Illinois. One student will be rewarded $500. Bond County Farm Bureau Scholarship – Scholarship of $1,000 being offered to a spring 2023 high school graduate who plans to attend college during the 2023-24 school year and study in the field of agriculture or agriculture-related.  The application can be found at this link:  https://bondfb.com/2023-scholarship-application/.  Deadline is March 31, 2023.

​ HBR Professional Women in Building Scholarship Program – A $500 scholarship awarded to a female recipient who plans to continue her education in a construction-related career path, which may include construction management, construction technology, civil engineering, architecture, design, or any of the trade specialties at the college, trade school or university they plan to attend.    Application can be found at the following link:  http://hbrmea.org/careers-in-construction/.  Click on the application for the Professional Women in Building Scholarship.  Applications accepted January 1  through March 31, 2023.                

HBR Union Contractors Council (UCC) Scholarship Program – A $500 scholarship is being offered to encourage qualified students to continue their interest in the home building industry.  Students must be pursuing a construction-related career path which may include construction management, construction technology, civil engineering, architecture, design, or any of the trade specialties at the college, trade school, or university they plan to attend.  Application can be found at the following link:  http://hbrmea.org/careers-in-construction/.  Click on the application for the UCC Scholarship.  Applications accepted January 1  through March 31, 2023.            

AMVETS Post 140 Scholarship - $500 scholarship for a BCCU#2 2023 high school graduate who plans to attend a vocational, 2- or 4-year accredited college or university.  Must currently have a parent serving honorably in the military, or have a parent, grandparent, or great-grandparent who served honorably in the military.  Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, and have financial need.  Application is in the Guidance Scholarship drawer.  Deadline is March 31st, 2023.

Norredden Gene Cowden Scholarship- This scholarship is for seniors who are enrolled in vocational or trade school programs. Students must have a 3.3 GPA or lower and must receive a referral from an Illinois Master Mason. The scholarship is $500 to $5,000 depending on financial need. Applications are available in the Guidance Scholarship file drawer. Deadline for this application is March 31st, 2023.

BCMW SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM-
is offering five (five) $1,000 scholarships for the 2023-2024 school year to low-income students desiring to further their education at an Illinois accredited two-year community college, vocational school, or four-year college or university.  Eligibility criteria will be based on income (guidelines on the application), current GPA, a 100-200 word Career Goals statement, 3 letters of recommendation, and an interview.  Application is available at www.bcmwcommunityservices.org.  Click on the “Resources” tab, and then the Scholarship application will be available.   Deadline date Thursday March 31, 2023.  

DAVID WALKER MEMORIAL SERVICE SCHOLARSHIP- This scholarship is a one-time $500 award to be given to one graduating senior from BCCU#2 High School who has been in scouting for at least three years, and has shown how he or she has helped the community of Bond County by volunteering and helping others.  The scholarship was established to offer any student who was in Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts a financial opportunity to further their education by attending a university, community college, vocational or trade school.  The applicant must complete an essay of approximately 500 words.  Also, three letters of recommendation must be submitted with the application.   Please return the application to the Guidance Office by April 1, 2023.

FIRST NATIONAL BANK  SCHOLARSHIP
– $1,000 scholarship to be awarded to a BCCU#2 senior student who has a minimum GPA of 3.0, who meets the academic requirements for admission to an accredited college, university, or technical school in the fall of 2022.  Must have exhibited the willingness to “go the extra mile” in sports, academics or other extra-curricular activities.  The application can be found on-line at https://www.thefnb.com.     Application Deadline is  April 1, 2023.     


ILLINOIS Masonic Scholarship Application  IL Grand Lodge and Scottish Rite Masons provide scholarship to help individuals better themselves through the pursuit of knowledge.  Scholarship are open to Masonic Family members only.  Applications may be found at https://sril092.com/sr/community-outreach/academic-scholarships/.  Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the Apply Here link.  This application must be postmarked by April 1, 2023

VFW POST 1377 SCHOLARSHIP
- This is a $1,000 scholarship, that will be awarded to one BCCU#2 H.S. graduating senior, sponsored by VFW Post 1377 Auxiliary and Volunteers for Veterans.  Selection Criteria: academic achievement, attendance record junior/senior year, financial need, and extra-curricular activities.  (No affiliation with the military is required.)  Application packets are in the Scholarship file drawer in the Guidance Office.  The application must be neatly handwritten and submitted to your high school counselor by April 3, 2023.


Bond County Home and Community Education- Two $500 scholarships for seniors with a GPA of at least 3.0 who are planning to attend a post-high school education program. You will need two letters of recommendation, a transcript, and a recent photo. Applications are in the Guidance Office Scholarship drawer and are due to the Guidance Office by April 3, 2023.  

ACADEMIC FOUNDATION AVIATION SCHOLARSHIP:  Bond County Academic Foundation Aviation Scholarship – This scholarship is intended for students who qualify and are interested in aviation as a career, and will provide introductory flight training at the Greenville Municipal Airport.  Applications are in the Guidance Office scholarship drawer and are due to the Guidance Office by April 7th, 2023.

IL Association of School Administrators (IASA) KC Region Scholarship - $500 scholarship for one senior student planning to go into Teacher Education.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office scholarship drawer.  Due to the Guidance Office by April 7, 2023. 

ACADEMIC FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS:  Corn, Cunningham, and Nevinger – For graduating seniors who meet relevant criteria per scholarship description. The criteria for these scholarships vary slightly, but involve scholastic performance, extracurricular activities, athletic participation, leadership, community service, personal character and future goals. This one application serves to apply for the following three scholarships: 
- Dotti Corn Scholarship - $500
- Sara Cunningham Memorial Scholarship - $500
- Jan Nevinger Memorial Scholarship - $2,500
Applications are in the Guidance Office scholarship drawer and are due to the Guidance Office by April 7, 2023.    

ACADEMIC FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP:  Art Bollinger  Scholarship – $1,500 scholarship for a graduating senior who has been involved in athletics at Bond County High School, and who have maintained excellent scholarship.   Applications are in the Guidance Office scholarship drawer and are due to the Guidance Office by April 7, 2023.


ACADEMIC FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP:  Ralph and Audrey Broom Scholarship – This 4-year TBD value renewable scholarship will be awarded to an exemplary senior who plans to attend a four-year public college in IL.  The criteria for this scholarship involve scholastic performance, demonstrated leadership in school and community service, and financial need. Application and essay required Applications are in the Guidance Office scholarship drawer and are due to the Guidance Office by April 7, 2023.

ACADEMIC FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP:  Keaster Scholarship – This 4-year $1,000 renewable scholarship will be awarded to a senior who has been accepted at a four-year college or university.  Applicant must be planning to become a Teacher at any level.  The criteria for this scholarship involve academic achievement, good moral character, community service, a good work ethic, and have financial need.  Applications are in the Guidance Office scholarship drawer and are due to the Guidance Office by April 7, 2023   

ACADEMIC FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP:  Riedemann Scholarship – This 4-year $1,000 renewable scholarship will be awarded to a senior who plans to attend a four-year college or university.  The criteria for this scholarship involve academic achievement, good moral character, community service, a good work ethic, financial need, and an understanding of the value of money. Preference will be given to study in the fields of Business, Finance, Agriculture, or Music Education; preference also given to a student attending Greenville University or the Univ. of IL Urbana/Champaign Applications are in the Guidance Office scholarship drawer and are due to the Guidance Office by April 7, 2023. 

Comets Sports Boosters Club Scholarships: two $500 scholarships - The Comet Sports Boosters Club will present the Dale Jurgena Memorial Scholarship of $500 to one male athlete, and the Dotti Corn Memorial Scholarship of $500 to a female athlete who has demonstrated during their high school years true “Comet Spirit.”  Team managers are also eligible for consideration.  To apply students must be: graduating senior, possess a GPA of 3.0 or higher, demonstrate dedication, hard work, good sportsmanship, team spirit and selflessness, students must be an active participant (player or manager) in a sport during his/her senior year, and preference will be given to students based on financial need.  Applications are in the Guidance Office scholarship drawer.   Return the application to the Guidance Office by April 7, 2023.


​The City of Highland Employees Scholarship – (Includes Bond County High School) Two scholarships are available for students: 1) scholarships awarded to a graduating senior student pursuing a degree in law enforcement, and 2) scholarships awarded to a graduating senior student pursuing a college degree or studies at a trade school.  Application is in the Guidance Scholarship file drawer.  Application deadline is April 9, 2023. 

BCCU#2 Character Education Scholarship - $1,000 scholarship available to BCCU#2 graduating senior.  Must be planning to attend a vocational program, junior college, or 4-year college, and have a minimum GPA of 2.5.  All senior students welcome to apply.  Applications are available in Guidance Office Scholarship drawer.  Deadline is April 14, 2023.

​Judy Ernst Scholarship
– Two awards in the amount of $500 and $250 (non-renewable) will be given to two BCCU #2 graduating seniors who must have attended Sorento School during all or part of their elementary school career.  The scholarship is to further the student's education by attending a major university, junior college, or a trade school.  The application is in the Guidance Office scholarship drawer. Application deadline is by April 15, 2023.


GREENVILLE OPTIMIST CLUB SCHOLARSHIPS: General Scholarship, and Bill Wise Scholarship – $1,000 each. The application will qualify you for both the Greenville Optimist General Scholarship, and the Bill Wise Optimist Scholarship. Criteria for these scholarships are academic achievement, financial need, extra-curricular involvement, and volunteer activities.  Priority will be given to students entering a major field of study which emphasizes working with youth; priority also given to family members of the Optimist Club, or other service organizations. Applications are in the Guidance Office scholarship drawer and are due to the Guidance Office by April 15, 2023.            


BRADFORD NATIONAL BANK SCHOLARSHIP – Two $1,000 awards will be given to two graduating seniors, who have maintained a high GPA and display qualities of leadership, dependability, and honesty. You may apply online at https://www.bradfordbank.com.  Click on the PERSONAL heading, then STUDENTS, then Scholarship.  Applications must be submitted online by April 21, 2023.     

PB & J Foundation Scholarship - $500-$1,000 scholarship, for students who have experienced personal challenges that may not have allowed them to perform well academically, but who still have the drive to succeed.  Open to high school seniors planning to attend an accredited 2-year or 4-year college.  Learn more at pbjscholarship.org.  See flyer outside of the Guidance Office.  Deadline to apply is May 31, 2023.

Abbott & Fenner Scholarship Program – Abbott & Fenner Business Consultants are offering up to $1,000 to the winner(s) of an essay contest.  These scholarships are available to all high school juniors and seniors. AES Engineers Scholarship – The consulting firm of AES is committed to continuing its support of higher education by providing scholarships to deserving students. Bill of Rights Institute We the Students Scholarship

For this year's We the Students Essay Contest, we are challenging students to tell us what civil discourse means to them. The students who provide the most thoughtful, meaningful responses to this question will receive scholarship awards of up to $7,500.
